437: Skin Edition

437: Skin Edition

The past week here in Canada has been nothing but bright blue skies and gorgeous warm weather. We don’t want to speak too soon, but we think that the sun is finally here to stay.

This weekend is a long weekend for us which means we get to spend three glorious days outside with friends (socially distanced of course), enjoying the weather and soaking up as much sunshine as possible. While we know you’re all excited to get back to a more active routine of swimming, tanning, hanging with friends (safely of course) with your fave 437 bikini, we want to remind you to make space to take care of your skin and body.  Here are some of our top tips to achieve glowing skin all summer long
Nourish your body. The key to glowing skin is to give your body all of the nutrients it needs guilt free. This means adding a little more fruit and veggies to your meals and drinking all the water you can. Ultimately, we want you to shower your body with love it deserves  from the inside, out.
Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate. Exfoliating your skin will give you that healthy skin glow. We like using gentle BHA/AHA exfoliators for the face and a sugar/salt scrub for the body. Quick tip: make sure you aren’t over-exfoliating your skin. Exfoliating 2-3 (maximum 4) times a week is the perfect amount to make sure you’re keeping your skin barrier healthy.
Moisturize. We know that the hot weather can make you opt out of moisturizing but it’s really important! Swap out thick winter creams and body butters for light lotions, hydrating gels or after-shower body oils. This is especially important for you to do after exfoliating.
Get Rest. If you’re anything like us, good weather makes you want to stay active all the time. Make sure you’re taking some time to get in some much needed rest and relaxation. 7-8 hours of sleep a night (or a quick nap in the middle of the day) will have you feeling and looking your best.
Get Some Vitamin D. A little bit of sunshine will do your mind, body and spirit some good. Take advantage of this warm weather and aim to spend at least 30 minutes outdoors a day. Vitamin D is so necessary for the body and your skin will thank you for it!
And Finally,
SPF!!! If there’s one thing we need to emphasize, it’s the importance of protecting your skin with SPF. No matter your skin tone, SPF is incredibly necessary to protect your skin from harmful UVA/UVB rays and pollutants.

While these are just a few quick tips, there are so many ways you can achieve glowing skin. We can't wait to see you rocking healthy skin and 437s all summer long! xx
